 Authentic HP Batteries Work as Designed |

I got my battery from Beach Camera.
There is no reason to rate these batteries down as they work as HP designed them. My HP laptop, which came from HP, had this same battery. The battery is bulky, but has much more capacity than the slim six-cell model. (Consider this a "design feature" for better ventilation, and not an unsightly, heavy, anchor.) Just be sure to check with all suppliers that they ship an authentic HP battery, not some generic imitation. Also, double check the battery's model number that you need to be sure that this is the model you require.
It seems that the authentic HP make of this battery probably is hard to find below a price of about $110. At this moment, HP, itself, sells this same battery for about $150 and sometimes has free shipping. |

This laptop battery is so awesome. I get on average 5-6 hours of charge off of this battery, which is way more than I could have ever imagined. Keep in mind that the 5-6 hours is also because I keep my power settings on HP recommended or power saver options when the laptop is not plugged into the power cord, which is what you should do when your laptop is running only on the battery. But 5-6 hours on average is amazing, when I used to only get about 45 minutes out of the original 6-cell battery that the laptop originally came with. After about 2 years of constant use I was only able to get 45 minutes out of the battery, which would never even charge to a full 100% when plugged in. But deciding to buy this new 12-cell battery was the best choice ever, seriously. And I don't mind that the battery sticks out a little in the back- I look at it as being a 3-in-1 deal because I get an EXTREMELY long lasting battery, the lift cools the laptop, and the lift elevates the laptop at a slight angle making it a lot more comfortable to type: 3-in-1 awesomeness! At it's very sturdy, so no worries there.
Now I don't have to worry about my laptop battery dying quickly and I don't have to worry about constantly searching for power outlets during lecture. I don't even have to worry about taking my power cord with me every time I go to class now. Thank goodness. This is a fabulous battery that lasts for HOURS, and if that's what you're looking for you won't be disappointed! I wasn't, and I'm pretty picky! Definitely a worthwhile buy!

| This battery is great for travel. I just got back from a trip to CA and was able to watch a movie on the plane and still had over 50% battery left (using power saver option). |

| I bought this product after putting up way too long with a dead 6-cell battery and am extremely happy I did. For those of you that don't know whether to opt for this one or the 6-cell that sits snug to the laptop, I'd definitely recommend going for the former. You get used to the extra bulk of the 12-cell really quick, and the extra hours or charge makes it great for trips to the coffee shop, air/train trips, and just being able to use it on the couch all night without having to go grab the power cord. |

| Arrived on time, in good condition. The extended capacity is definitely worth the cost/weight if you ask me. Also the extra lift produced by the additional cells on the bottom provide a much more comfortable typing angle and help with air-flow, keeping the machine cooler which will also extending the life of the battery and internal components. All in all.. amazing! Get one. |

| After my original factory battery reached the point where it would no longer hold a charge, I searched for something better. I use my laptop a lot, and not always in the most convenient places to plug it up. I got very fast shipping for this item and once it arrived it was easy to install and start using. The battery itself is considerably more heavy and you will notice that it stands up the back of your laptop higher. This is to be expected of 12-cell batteries. These are not even bothersome to me. I am glad to report that I have regularly gotten around 6 hours of usage on the battery power alone, which is perfect for what I need to use my computer for. I recommend this battery as it is performing very well for me right now, and has been for the last couple of months (FYI i have an HP DV2000). |

I needed a battery to make sure that I could get 6-8 hours out of my laptop if I had to -- this battery does it. Period.
Depending on my power settings, this thing will last me for at least 6 hours, and I haven't actually tested it beyond that. If you need long battery life, you have to know how to conserve power -- dimming the screen, and so forth. I can't understand some of the complaints I see here: It's bulky -- sure it's bulky! The whole point is that you need a long-lasting mobile power source. If you're looking at an "extended life" battery, you know what you're getting into. You can't get a battery that lasts 2x as long and is the same size, that's not how batteries work. The bulk is actually a plus in my mind, the battery size lifts the bottom of the laptop up off the desk surface and allows better air-flow, so the top of the machine remains cooler.
The bottom line on this one is that it's designed for those who need better than average performance from their battery. If you want small, go for the regular battery. |

| It was not easy to tell that this replacement over-size battery is a genuine HP battery (I would not use a substitute due to warranty issues but it is. The delivery and price were great and the instructions told me how to prolongf the life. I am happy with everything. |
