Works great (so far)

My old charger broke after about 2 months, so I went to Staples to see if they had a replacement. They had it, but at an outrageous price, [...]. I looked on Amazon, and thankfully I found this at a third of the price. I bought it, and it works just fine, no complaints whatsoever. But judging from the other reviews, it might break soon, but I think theirs broke from not taking proper care of it.
Good Replacement for HP dv9339us Laptop

This replacement charger does exactly what it's supposed to do. I have had it for several months now with no problems. It fits correctly and seems to be relatively equal to the charger that came with the laptop.

Here's a hint for those who are having power problems with their laptop (a general hint not necessarily related to this specific product). I thought my DC power port was broken and was willing to spend a couple hundred dollars to get it fixed. Before spending that much money, I figured I'd buy this charger to make sure I didn't just need a replacement power cord. As it turns out, that's all I really needed! So if you're having power problems with your laptop, buy a replacement power cord first before getting it fixed as this might be the cause of your problems.

I compared prices locally and this item was a steal. It fit the computer model as promised and works fine.
Cheaply made, doesn't last.

This laptop charger only lasted me maybe 2 months, if that. Buy a better quality charger. It "kind of" still works if the cord is twisted or positioned the right way.
Works, but not ideal

This adapter, while adequate, leaves much to be desired.

I like to buy spare power adapters for my laptops- one for home, one for the road. I don't need full docking stations, but find it easier to just slip the laptop out and plug in at my desk when I get "home", leaving my "mobile" charger in the case so I never forget it.

This charger works and includes both the brick and the wall cable, as opposed to some items that require you to buy both pieces separately. And paying $20 for this sure beats spending $100+ for the "real" one from HP.

My complaints are twofold:

1) The overall length of this cable is adequate, but much shorter than the original. I understand that using fewer materials is one way they get away with a cheaper price, but I would prefer to tack on a few extra dollars for a few extra inches.

2) The adpater gets *extremely* hot. This point cannot be emphasised enough! Do NOT leave this adapter plugged in when not in use, or you're asking for a fire!!! While in use, be sure that it's clear of any clutter and most importantly, watch your hands/feet. If you have children be doubly careful. The power brick will most likely burn them if they go grabbing for it!

In summary, for the price you pay, this charger does the job but you may wish to look for an alternative or even spring full price for the "real" charger.
You get what you pay for, sadly

I purchased this in September 2008 for my HP pavilion dv2000. I wanted to be able to bring my laptop home without having to crawl under my desk, unplug and wind up the power plug every time. I kept this charger at home in my living room.

It worked well for the first six months. After that the plug seemed to not hold into the laptop firmly anymore. It also needed to be kept in a certain position in order to actually charge my laptop. It also caused my laptop to make a funny unknown noise that I do not experience at work, or when the laptop is unplugged. Just this week, as I was manipulating the plug in the socket to try to get it to work, it smoked up and fizzed out. This really scared me because I thought it might have destroyed my laptop. I felt very foolish that I might have destroyed an expensive laptop because of a cheap plug. However, it turns out that the plug destroyed itself and my computer is fine. After that I deposed of the plug.

I take care of my belongings and only used this plug in one location at home on a bi-weekly basis. I would have to blame poor design and not wear and tear for the plug's malfunction.

It worked well for the first six months, but you will indeed get what you pay for. Just be careful that you do not destroy your computer by utilizing cheap components like this plug. I am now investing in a mini laptop with really good battery life as an alternative to bringing my larger laptop home.
Cheaply made, won't last.

I purchased this immediately because the original AC adaptor that came with my HP Pavilion dv2000 crapped out after over 2 years of use from my laptop-reliant student life. This replacement worked for less than two months before signs showed that the cable was poorly made and the connection fails within the wire. I don't know what's in there, but it's not connecting, and thus not charging my computer's battery. If I mess with the wire by straightening it or untangling, it will eventually work, but who has time to do that when I'm typing out my exam?! Do not purchase - get something with better quality.

I had bought this power cord abut 2 months ago and last two days it barely works at all even no power light when plugs in. Not Reccomended
